A-STEP Singapore Chapter Launch: From Africa Interest to Execution
Overview
Interest in Africa among Singapore companies is growing, but turning that interest into business takes more than a market briefing. The Africa–Singapore Trade Execution Programme (A-STEP) is SBF's main platform for Africa engagement, designed to give companies practical support to assess opportunities, work through market-entry challenges and connect with credible partners.
This launch of the Singapore Chapter, led by SBF's Africa Business Group (AfBG), brings together an Africa outlook, a session on financing and getting paid, a forum with operators who have built businesses on the ground, and 1-on-1 advisory clinics where you can put your own questions to AfBG members and partners.
Event Detail
Plenary (about 75 minutes)
- Africa outlook. A continent-wide view of the trends and where the deals are happening
- Financing the deal. A real case showing the problem, how project financing and getting paid were handled, and how currency volatility was managed. A practical walk-through, not a product pitch.
- Forum: How Singapore companies grow in Africa.Business leaders with operations in West Africa, East Africa and the fintech and payments space share how they entered and scaled, how they found partners, and what they would do differently.
A-STEP Advisory Clinics (about 80 minutes)
- Each company gets a 6 to 8 minute 1-on-1 session with an AfBG member or partner at a clinic table.
- Tables cover West Africa, East Africa, payments and settlement, logistics, and Africa market strategy.
- Bring a specific question. The clinics are for practical advice on market choice, route to market, partners and payments, not a general briefing.
