Power Query helps keep the Data Preparation steps (for repeated use) to save enormous time and effort for users in order to work more efficiently

• What is Power Query ?
• How does Power Query work ?

Using Power Query For Data Preparation

• Get data from multiple sources e.g. different worksheets / workbooks, text file or web data
• Combine data by Append or Merge method
• Clean/transform data to ensure suitable for analysis e.g. handle missing data, add columns easily by providing sample input, remove duplicates in one step

Part II : About Power Pivot

The Innovative Data Analysis features of Power Pivot empower users with new capabilities to analyse data

• What is Power Pivot ?
• How to activate Power Pivot ?

Using Power Pivot to better analyse data by creating :

• Data Model i.e. build table relationships
• Pivot Report with Data Model that enables users to produce insightful summary report from multiple Excel tables instead of Conventional Pivot Report without Data Model which can only analyse one table
• Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) Formula and KPI which are new ways of analysing data

At the end of the workshop, participants would be able to :

• perform data preparation and data analysis using MS Excel's built-in tools
• enhance data preparation and data analysis capabilities so that he/she can work more efficiently
