Overview

The area of employment law in Malaysia has always known to be pro-employees. Foreign investors who entered into the Malaysia market usually find themselves unaware of the differences in human resource practice and management in Malaysia. Making a mistake in such practice can be costly to an employer if an industrial action is subsequently commenced by employees against the employer. As companies consider establishing offices in Malaysia, it is important for business owners to have the fundamental understanding of labour practices and are compliant with the local albour law.

Sujintana Mongkolthanit

Sujintana Monkolthanit is the senior associate in the Corporate, Commercial & Securities Group of Wong & Partners and focuses on issues and areas relating to employment. She has assisted clients from various industries on issues about employment and labour law, including employment contracts, unions, workforce reductions, performance management or misconduct terminations. She also advises on Malaysian immigration issues including application of work permits as well as on general compliance issues. She has also advised and assisted in general civil and commercial matters.
