Course Overview

This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and understanding on distribution channel in Southeast Asia (SEA) and the Asian region. It is through distribution channel that SEA businesses can deliver their products to customers. Distribution channel overcomes the place barriers in delivering the product. Today, being global and going international, even on a SEA and Asia level can be a daunting task. In this module, you will not only learn about the strategic importance, but also the design and management of distribution channel in SEA globally. Participants will understand what the main trends and tools that can be used to better cope with the SEA distribution needs.

At the end of this module, participant will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of a distribution channel strategy
  • Identify the general types of distribution channels and how it is practiced in SEA, including SEA’s distribution channel strategy
  • Enumerate the steps to design and choose right distribution channelling mix, applying to the SEA and Asia market

Trainer’s Profile
Dr Sherman Ong has extensive business experiences globally since 1983, and in China since 1998. Dr Ong’s thirty-five years of working life cover four industry sectors, namely, High Technology Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Sector (10 years), Information Technology and Communications Sector (13 years), Public Healthcare Sector (7 years) and Higher Education Sector (5 years). Currently, Dr Ong is Director, Principal Consultant and Senior Business Advisor to several business ventures.  As consultant to both small and medium sizes enterprises and MNCs regionally. Dr Ong is also Academic Advisor to doctoral candidates of University of Southern Queensland. Dr Ong holds a Doctor of Business Administration from The University of Western Australia Business School, Master of Business (1st Class Honours) from the University College of Dublin, National University of Ireland, and Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Western Australia.
