Practical HS Code Classification: Key Considerations for Stronger Trade Compliance *New!*
Overview
HS Code classification is the foundation of customs declarations, duty determination and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) utilisation. Incorrect classifications may result in customs delays, compliance risks, additional costs and missed opportunities to benefit from preferential tariff treatment.
This one-day practical workshop provides participants with a structured understanding of the Harmonised System (HS) and the key principles used to classify goods for international trade. Through practical examples and case studies, participants will learn how to navigate the HS nomenclature, apply classification rules, utilise classification tools and support classification decisions with relevant documentation.
Participants will also gain insight into common classification challenges, emerging product categories and best practices for maintaining classification accuracy across their organisations.
