Connectivity powering India’s Smart Cities

Supporting Partners:

Overview

India should be a country brimming with potential, given its pool of undeniably talented people and huge capacity to achieve. India’s GDP growth is projected to remain robust with an average growth rate of 7.3% from 2016-2020. Policies such as Make in India, Digital India and the Smart Cities Mission make it easier for Singapore companies to do business there.

As India transforms, the provision of urban solutions is another area where India's plans and Singapore companies' capabilities align. These development plans present great opportunities for Singapore companies, which possess the technology and expertise in urban development, transportation, logistics and eCommerce/Internet of Things (IoT) to stand out from the competition.

Around 4,700 times the size of Singapore and with a population 240 times this island city, India has the potential to be the perfect market for Singapore companies to scale up. Now is the time for Singapore companies to write themselves into this exciting chapter in India’s history. Singapore Business Federation has put together a seminar to introduce the opportunities that Singapore businesses have in Southern India

Highlights

  • Opportunities for Singapore companies in Southern India States (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh)
  • Taxation and Labour laws consideration
  • Ports and logistics facilities in supporting the industries
  • Huge growth potential of the eCommerce space in India
  • Case studies from Singapore companies that have ventured into India
