Overview

In conjunction with the incoming delegation visit of from the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Singapore Business Federation. the Embassy of Hungary in Singapore and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are pleased to present the Singapore – Hungary Business Seminar 2019.

The business seminar will provide participants with updates on the Hungarian economy and business conditions and allow Singapore businesses to have an in-depth look into emerging sectoral opportunities. Singapore participants will also have the chance to meet and connect with the 29 delegates from Hungarian during the networking session. Detailed profiles of the Hungarian delegation can be requested for upon registration of the event

Key Facts About Hungary

  • Location: Hungary is landlocked and strategically located across main land routes between Western Europe and Balkan Peninsula as well as between Ukraine and Mediterranean basin making them an ideal location for companies who wish to penetrate the central and eastern parts of Europe.

     

  • EU Member: Hungary has been a member of the EU since May 1, 2004, adopting the EU's common external trade policy and measures.

     

  • EUSFTA (European Union-Singapore Free Trade Agreement): As a member of the EU, Hungary will be a beneficiary of the EUSFTA once the agreement comes into force after it is signed and ratified by both parties.

     

  • Economy – Hungary is regarded as a converging economy approaching the ranks of developed countries. Hungary has an advanced and diversified free-market economy and the economic growth is strong relative to other countries in Europe as evidenced by positive GDP real growth rate over the last 3 years. The last recorded GDP real growth rate was 4% in 2017.
