Overview
This 1-day workshop on Sustainability and Risk Management is designed to give learners a big picture of ESG - Environmental, Social, Governance, their current issues and the likely impact these have on many businesses, including the financial sector. It provides a basic but solid foundation for learners to understand the growth and development in sustainability and why / how the banking industry can play an active role in helping businesses embrace sustainable investing and finance. By embarking on this ESG journey, the trainer will also discuss risk management which is crucial in ESG planning.
Participants can look forward to interactive discussions with the trainer on some interesting examples, relevant insights and real cases during this workshop.

During this 1 day session, participants will be guided on the following :
1. Definition of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance)
- What is Sustainable Finance and its relationship with ESG
2. Latest up-to-date development in Sustainable Finance (for banking and investment sectors)
- Global ESG trends, key factors e.g. UNSDGs, Paris Agreement, UNEP FI, BIS, NGFS, GFAN, Singapore Green Plan etc
- Current ESG issues (climate change, inclusivity, equity and diversity, operations efficiency from energy and waste management perspectives)
3. Implications on Sustainable Finance development in Singapore and Southeast Asia
- Introduction to types of sustainability banking models, sustainability financial solutions
- Challenges and opportunities of ESG and Sustainability in the banking sector
4. Importance of Risk Management in Sustainability
- Types of climate risks and its drivers - physical and transition risks
- Risk mitigation using climate stress testing
5. Case studies discussion

At the end of the workshop, participants would be able to :
- gain updates on the latest global trends and regulations on both ESG and Sustainability
- be aware of key stakeholders' perspectives on ESG and Sustainability impacting the banks' strategy and operations
- keep abreast of banking models, financial solutions and its challenges in adopting ESG and Sustainability
