Overview

Tasmania has a solid history of investment and trade relationships with Singapore. Recent years have seen increases in interest from Singapore-based companies such as Firmus and the Fragrance Group who are seeing great benefits in investing in Tasmania. Be part of the action!

The Tasmanian Government is conducting a trade and investment mission to Singapore in April 2026 led by the Hon. Guy Barnett, Deputy Premier of Tasmania and Minister for Small Business, Trade and Consumer Affairs.

In this exclusive seminar held during the mission and co-hosted by the Office of the Coordinator-General and Singapore Business Federation, hear about major investment opportunities in various sectors like tourism, renewable energy and agriculture. Gain a detailed understanding of the key drivers in each of these sectors along with an overview of exciting projects ready for investment.

Key sector highlights

Renewable energy: Tasmania is Australia's leader in renewable energy and is already 100 percent self-sufficient in renewable electrity generation. It is well placed to increase its renewable energy supply especially with identified and forecasted electricity demand across Australia. Work is already underway on a number of capacity building projects and the state has a strong pipeline of energy projects seeking investment and offtake opportunities.

Tourism: As Australia's only island state, Tasmania is a world leading tourist destination, with its iconic brand ranked the most unique of all Australian destinations. The Tasmanian Government's vision is for Tasmania to be a world-leading travel destination with a vibrant visitor economy, and the state has a record infrastructure pipeline, with a range of large demand driving projects across the state including the soon to be constructed Macquarie Point Stadium.

Agriculture: Tasmania's food and agriculture sector is highly diversified and includes dairy, fruits and vegetables, livestock production, field crops and niche products like honey and truffles. The state has the land, climate, expertise and skills to support all aspects of agriculture, including contemporary sub-sectors such as plant-based protein and seaweed production.
