Overview

Vietnam, one of ASEAN's fastest-growing consumer markets, presents attractive opportunities for FMCG and general trading companies seeking regional expansion. As the country's commercial and consumption hub, Ho Chi Minh City offers access to a rapidly growing middle class, a dynamic retail landscape, and an extensive network of distribution channels spanning modern trade, traditional trade, and e-commerce.

To help Singapore companies capture these opportunities, the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) will lead an exclusive business mission to Ho Chi Minh City from Wednesday 5 August to Friday 7 August 2026, with a dedicated focus on the FMCG and General Trading sectors.

Participants will gain first-hand market insights, engage in curated business matching sessions with potential distributors, importers, retailers, wholesalers, and buyers, better understand regulatory requirements, and explore concrete opportunities for market entry, distribution partnerships, and business expansion in Vietnam.

Note: Airfares, accommodation, & personal expenditure are not included. These expenses shall be borne by participants.

Programme/Agenda

Tentative Programme:

Day 1: Participants will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and check in to their hotels. The programme will begin with welcome and keynote speeches by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and the Singapore Consulate General, followed by market briefings on Vietnam's market overview, key business hubs, and e-commerce ecosystem. In the evening, delegates will join a networking dinner with business representatives from Singapore and Vietnam, as well as key Chambers such as the Singapore Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, Malaysia Business Chamber, Kadin Indonesia, and the Hong Kong Business Chamber.

Day 2: The second day will begin with a masterclass series covering Business Culture and Development Strategy, Consumerism and Market Outreach, Retail Listing Applications and Distributions in Vietnam. The session will feature practical sharing by experienced market practitioners, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. Following a networking lunch with partners, participants will engage in curated business matching sessions, with each company meeting potential buyers, distributors, retailers, importers, or business partners to explore collaboration and growth opportunities in Vietnam.

Day 3: Participants will begin the day with a fireside chat featuring a Singapore business leader with extensive experience operating in Vietnam, offering practical insights into building and sustaining a successful business in the market. This will be followed by a retail immersion visit to a selected shopping mall and a high-end supermarket, providing delegates with firsthand exposure to Vietnam's modern retail landscape, consumer purchasing behaviors, brand positioning, and in-store marketing practices. In the afternoon, participants will have an option to visit Vietfood & Beverage - Propack 2026 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), one of Vietnam's leading trade exhibitions for the food, beverage, processing, and packaging industries. The programme will conclude with an optional closing dinner hosted by SBF.

Note: The program will be conducted in English.
